Domestic Steel

All sizes welcome. Small jobs get the same experienced crew and the same quality as the largest commercial package.

What We Do

Not every steel job is 100 tonnes. A lot of the most technically interesting work is small — a 13-metre light well, a church cross, a loading dock, a residential extension that needs a steel frame done right.

The St James The Great Parish job in St Kilda East was 11 tonnes and two-day erection. It's in the portfolio because it was done properly and the client was happy — not because of the tonnage. That's the Vicsteel standard regardless of scale.

Small jobs done well lead to big jobs. We have builders who started with a single domestic project and are now sending us their whole commercial pipeline. That's how we prefer to grow.

What This Means in Practice

  • Residential and small commercial steel frames
  • Loading docks, mezzanines, awnings — any small steel scope
  • Same fabrication standards as our largest commercial jobs
  • Same install crew — no subbing out to cheaper operators
  • Quick turnarounds for urgent or time-sensitive builds
  • Fixed quotes — no surprises at invoice time
